Looking Ahead
As the program grows, we are focused on:
-
Expanding access across multiple locations
-
Strengthening youth leadership and volunteer pathways
-
Deepening partnerships with local organizations and sponsors
-
Continuing to build a space rooted in dignity, joy, and care
Our impact is made possible through community support, partnerships, and shared belief in Vallejo’s youth.

Why It Matters
Vallejo is a resource-limited city, and too often, youth are left without safe, consistent spaces during evening hours.
-
Providing structure without punishment
-
Offering safety without surveillance
-
Building trust without barriers to entry
This work is preventative, relational, and community-led.
Vallejo Late Night Basketball fills a critical gap by:

Community Voice
(You can rotate these or feature 1–2 at a time)
Youth
“This is the only place I feel comfortable coming late at night where I know nothing bad is going to happen.”
Parent
“I feel safe knowing my child is here instead of out in the streets.”
Volunteer
“This doesn’t feel like a program. It feels like a community.”
Partner
“Vallejo Late Night Basketball is doing the work that actually meets people where they are.”

More Than Basketball
While basketball is the entry point, the real impact is relational.
Youth experience:
-
A sense of belonging and safety
-
Positive relationships with peers and adults
-
Opportunities to contribute through leadership and volunteer roles
-
A space where they are seen, respected, and supported
Families and community members experience:
-
A welcoming environment to gather and connect
-
Increased trust in community-led safety efforts
-
Visible investment in youth during high-risk hours

Program Reach in 2025

228 youth participants served across the season
-

-

Creating Safe Space, Connection, and Opportunity in Vallejo
Vallejo Late Night Basketball exists to create a safe, welcoming space for youth and community during late-night hours, when options for connection, recreation, and support are limited.
What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a consistent community gathering rooted in safety, care, joy, and accountability. Each week, we open the gym not just for basketball, but for relationship-building, nourishment, and presence.
Our impact goes beyond the court.
