About Late Night Basketball
Our Organization
The Vallejo Late Night Basketball Program is led by a community-based planning team with defined leadership roles and subcommittees to ensure smooth coordination across all aspects of the initiative.

-
Program Director oversees the overall vision, coordination, partnerships, and delivery of the program.
-
Assistant Directors support leadership by managing operations, logistics, and programming efforts.
-
Subcommittees focus on key areas:
-
Operations & Logistics
-
Programming & Partnerships
-
Communications & Promotion
-
Sponsorship & Fundraising
-
-
Coordinators and Leads guide specific functions within each subcommittee (e.g., volunteer management, sponsorship outreach, social media, youth engagement).
-
Volunteers and general team members support night-of logistics, youth support, and event experience.
-
Community advisors and founding supporters (including Councilwoman Helen-Marie Gordon and legacy figures from the original program) remain engaged to offer guidance and continuity.
The structure is collaborative, mission-driven, and rooted in community leadership — designed to create a safe, empowering, and consistent space for Vallejo youth throughout the summer.
Our Mission
The goal is to ensure our mission and values reflect the spirit of the program and align with the community we serve.

Mission Statement
To provide a safe, empowering, and community-centered space for Vallejo youth through basketball, mentorship, and meaningful connection — fostering leadership, wellness, and belonging on and off the court while offering positive alternatives that build trust, reduce harm, and strengthen our community.

Vision Statement
We envision a Vallejo where every young person feels seen, supported, and inspired to thrive — where the experiences, relationships, and lessons built through Late Night Basketball extend far beyond the court, shaping a stronger, safer, and more connected community for generations to come.
