To provide a safe, empowering, and community-centered space for Vallejo youth through basketball, mentorship, and meaningful connection—fostering leadership, wellness, and belonging on and off the court.
Mission
Vallejo Late Night Basketball was created to meet a clear community need: safe, positive spaces for young people during late-night hours when opportunities are limited and risks are higher. Rooted in community voice and partnership, VLNB brings together youth, families, mentors, local organizations, and public agencies to create an environment centered on belonging, wellness, and growth.
The program builds on the legacy of earlier Late Night Basketball efforts in Vallejo and reflects years of community advocacy calling for its return. Each season, VLNB continues to grow in reach, structure, and impact while remaining grounded in relationships and trust.
About Vallejo Late
Night Basketball
In 2025, Vallejo Late Night Basketball launched a youth logo contest, inviting young people across our community to design the image that would represent the heart of our program.
The winning design came from Jonathan Hernan Gonzalez.
His artwork captured everything we hoped the logo would stand for — energy, unity, pride, and community. His design became the official mark of Vallejo Late Night Basketball and now appears on every flyer, shirt, hoodie, and piece of program material.
Tragically, Jonathan passed away the weekend before winners were selected. His design was chosen purely on the strength of his creativity and vision.
Today, Jonathan’s logo continues to represent VLNB — a lasting symbol of youth voice, talent, and ownership in our city.
We are honored to carry his legacy forward.
